I recently learned
he was found guilty of plagiarism, for stealing an entire section of someone else's song and releasing it as a single.
Personally I think that puts his aggressive protection of his photographic image in an even more unflattering light. Particularly when you consider that a lot of the pics of him that were shopped here were not actually his copyrighted material.

Instead of calling it copyright theft
he could sue for his personality rights. I think the general idea is that we're not allowed to be entertained by Prince's face in ways he doesn't like.
