if it weren't for us you'd all still be mixing coloured fluids together in test tubes and hoping to turn lead into gold. as it is, we gave you the schroedinger equation and you started pretending electrons were on "orbitals" and invented a load of grossly-inaccurate analogies to convince yourself you understood it. meanwhile, we went off to more interesting things.

the smug tone of that comic's quite rich coming from an "engineer" and amateur programming who appears to have studied a couple of physics courses at university and pretends he's a mathematician as a result...
i was trying to get a rise out of colonel boris. doesn't look i succeeded :( even though chemistry *is* just a bunch of phenomenology based loosely on misinterpretations of approximate solutions of the schroedinger equation
