# Sounds interesting...
but did they have red lights in the soles like mine did?

Also, good morning everyone :)

# I think their emphasis was more on comfort and durability
And good morning and a half to you

# Ahh, so the opposite of Converse...
I've got my eyes on a pair of combat boots next.

# It may sound odd but one of my priorities when buying shoes
is the sound they make on a hard surface. I like being able to make that impressive tok-tok noise when I walk down the street.

# I wish I'd considered that when I bought my current Converse.
They make a 'woku woku woku' noise.

# I remember this from my childhood.
They were the cheapest shoes you could buy the the time in Dunnes an Irish version of Primark.
(, Sat 31 Mar 2012, 13:17, archived)
# I think we had a Dunnes here in Manchester until quite recently.
I do know you can buy knock-off Converse for about £3 in Primark. I suppose they're good in an emergency, can't say I've ever bought a pair.

# TK Maxx are good for cheap trainers.
Decent labels at decent prices, although it's a lottery as to what they have in stock.

# i have a pair of lineman's boots (yes, I was the lineman) Which are about 20 years old and still very comfortable.
I would wear them more if they went with business-casual attire.

# *Googles lineman's boots* Oooh, they look a bit like Doc Martens.
(, Sat 31 Mar 2012, 13:28, archived)
# yes, and they're very durable.
They have an integrated tongue--a full leather panel sewn to the endflaps. This means that you can stand in a deep puddle without water going into your socks.
(, Sat 31 Mar 2012, 14:17, archived)
# Ahh, they'd come in handy, living in the rain capital of the world, and all.
I might consider something similar for my next pair, because these Converse are well and truly knackered.

# Linemans boots look great on a guy
Guess you probably need to wear them with skintight jeans though
(, Sat 31 Mar 2012, 13:28, archived)
# Then it's a good thing they're the only kind I wear. XD
(, Sat 31 Mar 2012, 13:51, archived)
# Yeah they are the only way to go really if you like boots
well, leggings too in my case.

Btw isn't b3ta awesome? I never expected to spend my Saturday afternoon discussing shoes with you and Pedro.

# Mm, I suppose combat pants would work too, but not as much.
And yeah, I think I've lost some man points here, but whatever. :D

# Oh, I am soooo taking you clothes shopping if we are ever in the same neck of the woods
(, Sat 31 Mar 2012, 14:12, archived)
# Hahaha! ;D
I do need to get more clothes though. Charlie Brown changes his clothes more than I do.

# Pedro, yes. Bourbon, I don't know.

# :)
This is the pair I have (black lowrise pair on the left), complete with zig-zag cut tongue protector, and notice the extra flap of leather on the side. That is so the utility pole doesn't chafe the actual boot leather.

# Nice!
Although wouldn't it be more sensible to have two the same colour?

# see my ninja edit :)
(, Sat 31 Mar 2012, 15:05, archived)
# the design of these thing are totally impressive. They put an extra piece of leather under the laces so that the laces don't chafe the actual boot.
You can also ship these back to WestCo and have them factory refurbished

# Wow
I bet they cost a pretty penny though

# Secsy!
would look nice on a girl with a tiny body and big feets!
