Bohemian Waxwing.Spends th summer in Scandanavia and if things get particularly cold, or the berries run out, they can migrate in large numbers to the UK and the continent. It's been a good year for them over here.
They're the thing that got me into bird watching - walking to work one day in Glasgow and there were more than a hundred outside the office.

they are splendid birdsi remember a couple of years ago i was out and they were in some low trees right next to the path, everyone was walking past not noticing them and i was agog at how close to, what seems like, hundreds of them i was and they weren't batting an eyelid at my presence.
