# especially as it as all done with my mouse
Wacom has decided to only move the cursor around the bottom quarter of the page

# Nightmare!
I know what you mean, I had to animate on a laptop last night, no mouse or touch screen. Felt like I was mildly disabled.

# is a tablet worth the investment?
What's the learning curve like? Always been tempted to get one.

# Well worth it I would say

# massively expensive though
the A4ish size screen feels cramped to work with but there's no way I can afford the next one up, or find the desk space to use it

# Have you ever used a pen and paper? It's like that. ;p
If you do a lot of freehand work your productivity will go through the roof. I couldn't get much done without one.
Don't go for anything smaller than a5 drawing area though, that's a false investment

# really stupid question but...
How does it work? Does the pen need to touch the pad continuously for the cursor? Do you press a button or something to 'draw'? And by free hand, do you mean just like drawing a picture from scratch? Like real pen and paper? Because I don't, but might if I could with a tablet, but then again, might not. I struggle enough using photoshop things on a 5inch smartphone :( when I don't really need to...

# hover over the surface to move the cursor
make contact when you want to draw
