I'll add to it explaining: Geocities doesn't allow remote linking. Try using the ukdragon uploader at www.ukdragon.com/b3ta until you get some decent hosting sorted.

or look at an inline image, your browser passes a "referrer" field to the server. It says "I was at this page, and now I've been instructed to get this. I think the two are linked."

(It doesn't pass that if you type in a new address at the top bar - only inline clickies and images.)

If Geocities sees a referrer other than "blank" or "geocities.com" then it denies the request. Other sites (tripod) put an advert there instead. Other evil sites put a porn image instead in order to really discourage remote linkers.

Most people, myself included, just allow it.
