I took it with a 5 quid disposable camera and got the film scanned at boots.

If you get enough light into the lense
any camera can look good. That is really all you should ever pay for on a camera, a lens that lets in a lot of light. The rest of a bad camera is usually built with as many ways to trick you into thinking that the lense is good enough.

oooh
boot's disposible b&w cams actually have ilford brand film in them. they're alright but i got mine developed at some crap place that can't keep their machines clean and they managed to scratch a whole roll of film.
