# jiggly puppies! yaaaaaaay!
well, that thread disappeared, but i suggest that all the addons for the new, more modular m3ssaging service get camelot-themed names.

# that Sir is
a galant and noble idea.

# since the messager and pub scheduler are the most important elements,
i've suggested to kmm that she name her pub scheduler guinivere. but spelt right.

# joust scheduler
surely?

# shirley's
not camelot themed at all

# Can we be Percival?
And the scheduler should definitely be Merlin.

# no, guinivere,
because it's so important, it should be the queen.
(, Wed 27 Aug 2003, 21:01, archived)
# Merlin as the dictionary then?
The repository of *wisdom*.
(, Wed 27 Aug 2003, 21:02, archived)
# yes!
if whoever makes it doesn't mind.

# no
it'll all get too much like the National Lottery

(, Wed 27 Aug 2003, 21:02, archived)

I agree.

# I don't know
if any plans have actually been made there yet. All the excitement and willingness to do stuff is a good thing, but I'm not sure if peeps have decided no a plan which isn't actually _the_ plan. I think Munkt0n will get to that bit in his own time.

On a related note: I've just found that although I can salvage pages from the dictionary from the google cache, I'm getting a few more anti-Martian definitions than I was hoping for. Well at least that tells me when they last crawled through there then...

# I
noticed that there were quite a few anti martian additions to the dictionary

lo there

# evening.
yes, there was a frightfully dull but rather keen troll in there not so long back. Looks like only a few letters are screwed up by this, so I'll carry on, but it's a pain.
(, Wed 27 Aug 2003, 21:07, archived)
# ah
had wondered about the anti martian, additions

I can imagine it being a nightmare, I feel you're pain :)

# flibz took them all out.
which i imagine must have been irritating. so, the troll made himself another new friend there.

# We're just brainstorming on the board
as we have nowhere else to do it ;)

# and you never know,
he might be happy to have provide a messager, but whether he wants to be a grand, organising flibz is another matter.
(, Wed 27 Aug 2003, 21:07, archived)
# yeah
My part of brainstorming is often to be the cautious one! I think it's really good that there's this much interest though.

# you never know
what you've got till it's gone!

and i remember flibz once saying that he'd rather m3ss3ng3r was more of a spread-out thing than him having written 90% of it.

# start from scratch.
i'd be happy to compile a new dictionary. after all, i am a trained linguist.
(, Wed 27 Aug 2003, 21:18, archived)
# I'm starting
to think that would be a better idea. If you're up for doing that, it sounds a top plan. The data I've got would need a lot of filtering anyway.
(, Wed 27 Aug 2003, 21:24, archived)
# i'll do it.
i'll make a start now with the obvious ones.
(, Wed 27 Aug 2003, 21:25, archived)
# woo to you!
I'm just having a quick look at sticking the google cached version online in a more accessible way. Could be useful for you as a reference. I'll either do that or give up on it quickly!

# no all names should be chosen at random
and then we make up reasons for their names. IMPORTANT: no two reasons should ever be the same.
