Excellent, it was my first moving background and it was hell. Do you have any advice or links on how they are done properly?

this is just 4 frames but it could have been done with two !
choose a background layer , add some motion blur , add your car/bike/whatever , then what I did for the next frame was just flip the background layer horizontally , if you've no reference points to give you the impression of motion in the background you can always add them as another layer
