spyware is nasty programs thatscrew up your browsing and grab whatever you are looking at to use as marketing data.. like bonzai buddy or comet cursor.. foul things - trust me.
Adaware is a lovely free program by Lavasoft that clears all that sort of shit out.

It's......nasy evil software that installs itself on your system and sends information to other people, or downloads adverts that you don't want to see.
If adaware doesn't work, I find Spybot - Search and Destroy to be quite good too.
