I have been begging the powers that be in my office for almost three years that they should give me a mac.
the sys ad guy agrees with me that they're much better, but the financial director isn't having any of it on account of beauty being expensive

Note: Not a mac, windows or linux user, so thats an impartial opinion :)
Mind you, MacOS X is a lot nicer than any of the previous versions. Up to and including 9.x, MacOS was the biggest pile of shit in the world, ever. 100% FACT

I don't play games on it much though, mostly use it for programming, IRC, email, web browsing, music composition, graphics and web development.

Only amiga I had was the 5200 (or something like that), and I loved it.
I got it instead of consols, and managed to get all the snes games before my mates on there snes. Had Street Fighter 2 for a good year before it came out. Only problem was that it was like 5 disks.
Does it actualy work in a practical sence in modern times? What kindda programing do you do on it?....

The most recent update of the Amiga operating system was 3.9, which came out around 1999, I think. AmigaOS 4 is due early next year, to run on the new PowerPC G4 Amigas. If you'd like to see this for yourself, come along to this show.
It works very well in a practical sense. This is what a modern Amiga workbench looks like.
