well, i'm a staunch mac user, but then again i'm an arteest and you can't really have anything other than a mac for art. so i'm heavily biased.
there's also the wee tiddly fact that i've never had a mac crash on me of it's own accord. every problem i've ever had with one was due to the internet hookup. they're just wellmade systems.

and I don't really need a 2ghz plus intel/amd processor on a laptop that I want mainly for word processing and typing

i worked my way through undergrad. I've got a fellowship now, and am taking full advantage of the fact that it doesn't say I have to work at all anywhere :)
