# can anyone help?
I've been trying to use Photoshop 7 to make an animation but when I copy the master image and layer1 to Imageready whenever I make a change to the layer the change carries through all of the animation cells. Any pointers would be most appreciated as I'm having to use Paintshop Proand it's not as good

# save the files as psds in
a folder then use import, folder as frames

PhotoshopTip *PSTip = NULL;
PhotoshopTip *PSTip = new PhotoshopTip(eWhatSpacefishSaidDownThere);

# i'm having that problem too
i'm assuming if you have paintshop you probably have animation shop too. use that for now

# Yep,
I'm using animation shop (for the laurel and hardy image below) but the features in PSP just aren't as good as photoshops (in my humble opinion anyway)

# In the fileout menu
on the animation menu there is an ticked option which you need to untick.

# there's a thing in one of the menus (near the middle somewhere)
called "propagate frame 1 changes"

turn it off

# Thankyou,
I will try all the suggestions, even the ones
I don't fully understand.
(Hmmm that'll be all of them then)

# Easy.
Add an empty frame at the beginning, so that frame 2 is the frame you will eventually use as frame 1. You'll find that if you make layer changes to frame 2+, they won't carry through to all the other layers. When you're done adding stuff, throw layer 1 away before you save.

Edit: Er, or you could do what spacefish says and use the application properly... Thanks spacefish :) I didn't know that option existed, which is why I came up with this workaround.
