I gotta say, I love this particular compo.

# No!
It's baseball but you kick a red rubber ball instead
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:33, archived)
# That sounds quite fun
I love baseball, but I can't hit the ball with one of those funny sticks to save myself.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:35, archived)
# baseball
is maybe the greatest game ever
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:36, archived)
# You wouldn't say that
if you had ever stood in the freezing cold watching Falkirk FC play another meaningless mid-table game in the Scottish First Division.

Marvelous.

However, baseball is really good and I am looking forward to the new season.

# Woo
did you see the Yankees got Kevin Brown as a pitcher? WOOOOOOOOO
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:39, archived)
# You can't
use a person as a jug. It's preposterous.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:40, archived)
# I have been paying
no attention to what has been happening pre-season.

I'll wait until the games start and see if I can spot who has gone where :)
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:41, archived)
# Well, feel free to follow my team

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

I'm the only fan left on Earth who cares about them. And I am lonely and cold.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:45, archived)
# Alex Rodriguez is also a Yankee now
but will be at 3rd instead of Short
Such a great year to be a Yankee fan!
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:45, archived)
# Please forgive me

but I must

*groooaaaannnnnnn*

(no offense intended, of course, to your team; but, well, *grooooaaaannnnn - wipes tear from eye, thinks of his poor D-Rays*)

# Not coming from the USA
I don't really have any allegiance to any team.

I do quite like the Cubs though, simply because they never win. The Giants too - I like that Barry Bonds fellow.

# I'm from the north side of Chicago
so even though I had White Sox season tickets there was a backyard Cubbie fan lurking inside me...but I can't help myself. As much as I tried to resist it, I love to watch the Yankees. It's just great baseball.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 7:59, archived)
# We generally get
two live games broadcast over here per week. I have to admit that I love it when the Yankees are playing the Red Sox - it's like WWIII could break out at any moment.
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 8:01, archived)
# I don't care much for the Yankees

but I really hate the Red Sox.

It was very nice to see them lose the A-Rod sweepstakes this offseason.

# Bonds
hurt his back yesterday (or Thursday) swinging in the batting cage; his status will be day-to-day.

And don't forget about his possible indictment for steroid abuse. He might not have a very good year this season, the way things are looking right now....
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 8:04, archived)
# Plus
he's forty
that's gotta hurt the back
(, Sat 13 Mar 2004, 8:18, archived)
# I agree, but only when

it is drug-free, fairly revenue-shared, and hard salary-capped.

# Not Tampa
just the idea generally

# Kickball, in general,
is a lot like baseball but played with a rubber all-purpose playground ball. The ball is "pitched" by rolling it from the pitcher's mound toward home plate. The kicker sends it out into the field with his foot. At that point, all normal baseball rules apply, except that any baserunner can get nailed with the ball and called "out" if they are caught off the base.

# thanks all for explaining
