I tried a prototype of one of those at a trade show a couple of years ago
absolutely completely unusable even before I broke it

Why don't we have house keys that work like car keys, where you just press a button and the door unlocks (and the knockers flash a couple of times I guess)?

Far easier to get into the house while being chased by monsters.
