That's right, the Tu144 took to the air just months before the Concorde, and was actually in service carrying cargo
Interestingly, there is *still* a Russian testbed vehicle, the Tu-144LL, so let's see now..
The Europeans have given up, the US never finished it, wouldn't it be *hilarious* if the Russians had the only supersonic passenger jet ;-)
