that looks like the chicken that is on TV in the shot where Ian Curtis has hanged himself. That scene is inaccurate because he actually hanged himself in the kitchen 100% of FACT.

but it's not taken from 24 Hour Party People. It's from the film Stroszek by Werner Herzog which Ian Curtis watched before listening to Iggy Pop's 'The Idiot' and hanging himself (as you correctly ppoint out, in the kitchen).
An interesting aside to that story, David Lynch was in the UK at the time and watched the very same transmission of the film.
