I don't see what's wrong with "black".I had several mates at Uni called "Matt". To distinguish them I had long-haired Matt, geek Matt and black Matt. Fairly sure I never caused him offense at that, but probably amused him with my naive questions from time to time!

We had a guy in schoolWho we called LBT (Little Black Tom) because there was, of course, more than 1 Tom around. Nobody ever dared to do it to his face because he was a fucking psycho and would probably actually find a way to take offense in it.
