(note that I do not endorse the word 'coloureds', but it's use was necessary in order to A. Make the joke work and B. reflect the awful attitude that apartheid sprouted from.)
original's even better, though
and now I've said that I can't find the bloody thing
but it contained lots of apologies for Bush in French

Yeah, I used that tag because it was the only decnt picture I could find (didn't have it in Google, I'm always on Snopes).
Ooh, and have you been on Thomas Bihn's messageboard? It's hilarious

Gollygeewillickers
I have always used the word, coloured.......is that bad? Thought that was a more PC word to use??
I still can't believe they made Robinson's remove the classic "Golly" from their labels because of this sort of thing.

had been a little white guy with massive lips doing a silly dance it would have been fine. It was just a logo, was it really that offensive to anyone? I know it panders to racial stereotypes, but it's no worse than having pictures of Frenchmen with big noses, stripey shirts and baguettes in my eyes, and besides, it's not like it said "this is what all black people are like" on the side.
Or am I just being incredibly ignorant here?

as long as you put it into context by saying
"I'm not RACIST but..."
before you say it.
NOTE: This also works with sexist, ageist, facist and so on.

But I could see a "Music of White Origin" awards getting slammed riotously which is a bit hypcocritical. Mind, it would be mostly Country music i guess so possibly it's for the best.

Not due to issues of accuracy (which I will not comment on) but because of the negative inflections the word gained through it's use in apartheid and in 20th century America.

darn it, going to have to find another word to use.
Although I won't have to use it much, don't get that many round my way.
My sister was 8 years old when she saw her first black guy, we were shopping in Morrisons and she couldn't stop staring!

My friend Bretty (from down south) was agog when I said "I've never seen so many black people" at Alton Towers on Friday...I in no way meant it in any negative light, I was merely commenting on how unvaried the racial mix is up here in Warrington.

I had several mates at Uni called "Matt". To distinguish them I had long-haired Matt, geek Matt and black Matt. Fairly sure I never caused him offense at that, but probably amused him with my naive questions from time to time!
I know I was probably long-haired or hippy Sam (at the time).
