But seriously, from what I've seen, intelligent employers value any sign of experience with the tools they want you to use. So if you're going for a job involving, say, photoshop or flash, any good B3ta work would look good in your portfolio.

Unfortunately I'm a geographer.
The only image manipulation skills we need are to be able to colour up to the edge of the map with the right colour crayon. And even then I often go over the edges.
