# iiinteresting...
who's the lady?
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:32, archived)
# Found her in Google images aaaaaages ago
She's know as "Countess Christina" and is some kind of Gothic young lady from Finland. Her website is at http://fury.fi/~logix/index.html although the pics seem to be disabled at the moment.

# oooh......
sexy! I would.

You can have the woo just below too. but i'm not posting it again, i'll get told off...
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:33, archived)
# You can repost in replies if it is relevant
and a woo is relevant to any good post.

# it's a
342kb repost
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:37, archived)
# Exactly.
and on consecutive threads, that's just asking for it....
Although I have less sympathy for the dial-ups classes since I got my ADSL.
Although - Tesco have now got a 512kb deal, free modem, free connection, £19.99 a month, wish I'd gone with that instead of the one I signed up for last month...

# Wanadoo now
doing 1mbps fro 17.99, free modem etc, introduced ONE FUCKING MONTH AFTER I SIGNED ONTO THEIR OLD 512kbps service.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:41, archived)
# French bitches.
Quelles sales putes qu'elles sont! Je les enfile bien profondément dans tous les trous!
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:43, archived)
# I thought that was for limited time
Like the first 3 months are 18 squids then it goes back the the proper price. I may be wrong as there are so many offers about at the moment.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:46, archived)
# no, this
month they changed all services to 1mbps, it's the allowances that vary. 17.99 is the cheapest option, comes with free connection, modem etc. only needs a BT line.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:47, archived)
# I didn't want one with any limits though.
Between P2P and legal downloads, and B3ta of course, I get through way more than 1Gb /month...
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:51, archived)
# well the cheapest one gives you
2GB a month, the only vaguely cheap ones i can find with no capping is AO-bloody-L
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:52, archived)
# Try this:
www.adslguide.org.uk

Good site, lists all ISPs. I'm on DComms Europe: not their cheapest options, but £19.96/month, no port blocking, no limits, 512kbps. Seems to work OK.

# Wanadoo do not rate high on the sustained data rate scale
their service slows at peak times *allegedly*. There is a site that compares all the providers (I can't recall the site now due to alcohol). Some provide 512k connection but only achieve a fraction of this in real terms. It is worth checking before signing up.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:51, archived)
# well i'm apparently 512
but am currently running 576, horoay!
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:53, archived)
# Careful
Don't mistake Kbit/sec for bytes/sec. I can't remember which is which (alcohol), but it's not the same.

576 whatevers is the standard downward flow rate on a 512 Kbit/sec connection.

# ah
you learn something new every day!
and i do realise the difference between bytes and kilobytes.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 2:02, archived)
# I meant bits and bytes, or something.
Anyway, for further explanations I recommend www.pcadvisor.co.uk .It's far too late for me, I'm off... ciao all

# i think he's more talking about the size of it
(342 kb)
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:38, archived)
# well it doesn't matter if it appears twice on the same page
it only downloads once. you should take a look at an optimization tutorial. There used to be a really good one, somewhere, but I don't remember where.
(, Wed 15 Sep 2004, 1:40, archived)
# I already played with the optimisation thingy. Not enough maybe.
hey, I'm still learning after all....
