# well like I said,
that the image gets printed is only a compliment to the creator. Most of the source images people use are taken from other sites to begin with so 'stealing' is not really something we can take the moral highground over unless someone was trying to use it for profit.

# therre is a thing at the patent office
you can copy someone else's concept and then refine or improve it, so long as it has been shown to have employed 'an inventive step'. For example, a watch with a USB flash drive in it. The inventor of the watch can't sue, and neither can the inventor of the USB flash drive.

Doing things to images to change their meaning for entertainment purposes is an inventive step. Taking a picture of a monkey needs a steady hand, equipment and an eye for a good picture. Turning the monkey picture into a pic of Yasser Arafat is skill. Pimping off someone else's skills is wrong.

I rest my case, m'lud

# I feel like a dick posting entries
to the b3ta board with my e-mail but it is precisely because I'm concerned about having stuff nicked that I do it... I have had gags from my website stolen for two different TV shows that I know of, so I appreciate what you're saying brother.

# I had a whole concept for a TV series stolen once
(well not quite but it was rather coincidental)
