I suggest you get it recovered to be honest....

you really have to remove all the fabric and more than likely get new foam as well...

# He could always get a really funky throwover
for a couple of quid - eliminating smell, hiding unsightliness, and retaining comfort value. the throw over could be washed periodically so that it doesn't become contaminated with old people piss smells.
