# Lycos
Yes there is a problem with member areas of Lycos. I signed up with Fortunecity this morning, only takes a min.

# you've
got a sattelite (wireless) connection? how much is that then? are you an evil villian posting from your lair of technological doom?

# BWAHAH

# hang on
a second... Wireless connections are very very rare, and super expensive, with connection from 10mbps to like, 100mbps. I dont know anything about satellite connections, through your sky box? like cable?
(, Sun 8 Dec 2002, 13:42, archived)
# well..
could you repeat that question?

oh and it's costing me 50$/month after i get done paying off the satellite upgrade from 1way

# ah,
now that I realise your in the states its pretty clear. the thing is, in the uk, satellite connections havnt taken off as cable companies like telwest have about a 44% saturation into british homes, and so were perfectly placed to offer broadband connections. Sattelite here is also way more expensive than the cable variety. Wireless connections are for networking various internet enabled appliances (blue tooth, 3g mobiles etc) over a LAN, and are rare as hell. Also, it is the only connection to really make use of superior wavelength sattelite connections so far.... i also do childrens parties.

# could you come to my party?
oh yeah, well im in the states and when you said rare i was like um...wtf? (i live in wyoming, the most barren state in the whole wide world in all its glory)
