claque noun 1 a group of people paid to applaud a speaker at a meeting or performer in a theatre, etc. 2 a circle of flatterers or admirers.

Claque?
In modern times, the term claque is also used to describe a behavior in social groups, in which people - most notably teenagers - follow a leader and encourage and applaud all of his or her actions, regardless of the relative immorality of the action or its consequences.
Isn't that clique?
