# Well I was reliably informed by someone
who witnessed such a horrific jump that in actual fact the skin is no more protection than the skin on a tomato and the bloke did indeed go splat however the jumpee was a student and probably malnorishment had lead to weak skin and a spotty complexion - although somewhat more spotty in the end.

the increase in size (especially as fat is easily moveable and malleable and not attached as tort that muscles and so on) would allow the momentum to dissipate over the greater distance, thus decreasing the final force acted upon the body

# correct the force of the impact would cause the internal organs and meaty bits to tear open the skin
thus splat would occur, maybe not as severe as the picture suggest but given enough distance then yes, splat would occur.

When ever anyone is seen jumping off a building, they just end up as a thing on the pavement with very little visible damage.

they do so so as to not disturb people with horrific gore. The amount of blood from such a fall is gorey enough but in many movies the body is hardly damaged at all which is stupid.
