Anyone know what format video phones/ 3g phones play video in? Is it as simple as - save file as mpg4, copy to phone and send or is there a specific format for downloadable videos? Anyone here develop 3g stuff could offer any info?

No idea
My phone doesn't do video.
On the other hand, it's battery lasts nearly 2 weeks and it's as small and light as your bluetooth headset.

You'll be thinking of either 3gp format for older phones
or MP4s on the newer fangled devices. Best bet is to look for the software designed for the phone. Although there is a Nokia Multimedia Developers kit available somewhere on teh interweb.
