Well, someone has to follow TGA......

A threadjack:
If I was to have a DVD which I had put footage on all as one title, even though it contained 7 or 8 scenes, is there any way of dividing that DVD title in half so that I can put it onto two DVD4s?
I want to retain full quality (family footage) but I want to break a title in half.
Any ideas?

get yourself a copy of Easy video splitter ( or one of many equivalents ) and extract the DAT or vob video ( which is an mpeg 2 file really ) and split it as needed.
alternatively use nero recode ( which is part of the nero 6/7 packages ) to extract what you need and recode to another DVD OR use DVD shrink, DVD Xcopy and the like to extract what you need. There are many, many ways to do it. have a look at www.videohelp.com

of easy video splitter ( you can get a trial from download.com ) or failing that install the trial of nero reloaded and use recode to take what you need. It's all a bit technical to go into here but try that website and post on the forums there, you will get a perfect reply detailing the tools you will need.
edit. if you rename the 6gb file from whatever it is to ***.mpg then there must be dozens of shareware video splitters at download.com ( DVD video is mpg so you can simply rename the files as you can with VCD and SVCD )
If you use Nero Express to make a DVD ( you wil need the DVD plugin ) then when you add the video you can edit it before burning and simply delete the first or second half of the movie from being used in the output )

But you'll need some softeware to rip it off the original DVD, someway of editing it and then some means of writing it back again. e.g. Some Nero software bundled with a DVD drive.
Or just get a Mac

I dunno. AVIsplit and those kinds of utils if you can convert (hazy on this bit: losslessly from mpeg2 to AVI...) alternatively, if adobe premiere can do this, I do know that you can download a 30 day trial with full functionality that would probably help.
