# you never lived,
it used to shoot little plastic cars at great speed accross the floor, until you worked out that by taping up the safety catch in the bottom, you could shoot them at anything, i have the scars to prove it, so does my brother.

# You did that too!?
Ha!

Great days!

# That sounds fab!
I had to build my lethal weapons out of Lego and elastic bands.

Mind you, I did get it powerful enough to actually crack Lego bricks if you fired them at the wall.

# pffftf
that reminds me of a toy that i had as a kid.
it was a gun shaped like the starhip enterprise and it fired spinning orange plastic disks.
it fired them really fast and hard - hard enough to break other children's teeth*.

*and bust lips etc

# I still have one
except it's not like the enterprise
and the disks are multi coloured.

# I used to have a pellet gun that would break the skin if you did it at point blank.
I did it to someone in a queue for a movie once. They thought they'd been bitten by some kind of bug and had a big panic attack.

# I once shot my brother with an airgun called a gat air pistol
it would shoot out anything that would fit in the end of it.
so I shot him with a cotton bud (cotton removed from one end) from about 1m away and it went right through his hand.in that bit of skin between the thumb and index finger.

edit: one of these

# I found my one of those up in the loft last weekend.
It still works.

A bunch of us used to put on jackets and a sub-aqua mask each and have shootouts with these things. Great fun!

# our bedrroms were at opposite ends of the landing
so we would shoot at each other, but only using the corks.

# We used to do it out in the garden
and used the pellets, the darts, corks, bits of twig, matchsticks, blu-tack, cotton wool, anything we could get our hands on.

We were dangerous little bastards, I'm so surprised none of us got seriously injured.

# my mum wouldn't let me have one of them
but my friend did, those little fluffy darts were leathel, pre-pubescent boys and sharp projectiles, what a combination.

# my mum took the darts off me
after the cotton bud incident above.
kitkat foil made good littel bullets for it though

# those were the days.
i pity young people now, they have no idea how to have 'harmless' fun. if one of us didn't at least crack our heads open once a week something was wrong.and when you got told off you stopped doing whatever it was( for a bit ) with no backchat.
