# Ha ha.
You are all nerdy IT Support people.

I am a goddam Systems Integration Engineer and therefore command your respect and obedience. On your knees, pigs!

# yes...
Yes we are

# I'm not an IT Support People.
I'm an IT Trainer. I don't get to do a lot of training at the moment though, what with the "all hands to the pump" nature of the NHS.

I expect I'll be doing surgery too next. Just to help out, you know.

# i'm not
I just work for a company that is so small everyone has to do about 5 jobs. My main job is to design the company brochures / marketing etc. And basically be a PA to my boss. (as he is fucking useless and can't even type an email himself).

But as no-one else here knows anything about computers, I have to get involved.

# move to london
some of the companies i used to freelance at had designers so fucking awful you wouldn't believe it, all on ridiculously inflated salaries because apparently HTML is hard

# HTML? Hard? Well, I'd walk away if it started on me in the pub...

# fuck that
I could no way afford to live in London. I can't even afford my own place here.
(, Thu 30 Nov 2006, 13:10, archived)
# ahh but that's the point
you get paid enough to live here
well, just about

# My main problem is
Because the couple of companies i've worked for since leaving school have been a bit 'Mickey Mouse' when it comes to software etc, I have no actual experience using any packages like Quark, and my only real experience is in Photoshop. SO unless there is a job waiting for me that purely involves photo manipulation then i'm a bit stuffed for progression.

# Or,
you could work IN London and live OUTSIDE of London.
I do this and it is all good. London's a horrible place to live anyway.

I'm an Infrastructure Engineer which sounds better so there.

May actually not be such a good job.

*engineer* in the title. So hooray you!
(, Thu 30 Nov 2006, 13:10, archived)
# True.
My actual job is sitting in front of the PC and surfing the web due to there being no work. But hey, I get paid a lot to do it :D
(, Thu 30 Nov 2006, 13:16, archived)
# That's odd.
That's what I do! :)

I am going to quit my job next month anyway. I shall take a month or so off in the new year before going contracting for wealth and fun. Hooray!
