# it annoys me that they keep referring to these women as prostitutes
and not, simply, as women. if three men were found dead, we wouldn't keep referring to them as a builder, a doctor and an astronaut.

besides, prostitute is a verb. the noun is whore.

# agreed, it is a tad sexist and judgemental.
however, referring to them as pros does serve to alert other women working as pros that there may be someone stalking them, and therefore makes them potentially less likely to be killed.

if three male taxi drivers were murdered, there would be a hunt for the cabbie-killer.

# but it's as if reporters and newsreaders are glad of the chance to say 'prostitute' on tv.
they're all like, "prostitute prostitute prostitute", and i'm all like "prostitute prostitute, prostitute prostitute", then he said "prostitute prostitute prostitute", and i told cassandra and she was all "prostitute prostitute prostitute".

# they do like their prurient buzzwords at times.
i notice the more conservative the media outlet, the more they thrive on chattering about deviance in a salacious manner. it's like freud's ghost is smacking the editors' faces with his big floppy cock all the time.
