# how shit was that
(the episode not your pic!)
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 20:44, archived)
# you shouldn't watch it, it only makes you cross!
/really enjoyed it though :)
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 20:52, archived)
# It never ceases to amaze me how bad it can be
Why do they constantly hire bad actors and worse script writers? Money can't be a problem now surely?

# I'm 33 and like sci-fi, just find Doctor Who too nonsensical and comedy cheap
I thought that they'd try and get away from the old style and make it more credible.
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 21:03, archived)
# then it would have alienated all those old fans who remembered the 'old style' with fondness
and would have kicked up a stink if it didn't cater to them...

At the end of the day, it's still a program that has good grounds for entertainment, and
it tries to entertain me direct, without me having to 'cast my vote', ring, text or
part with any hard earned cash to keep it going.

This is partly why it gets my vote for Saturday Night viewing
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 21:07, archived)
# true
in comparison to everything else on on a Saturday night (except You've been framed which I will never tire of) it is streets ahead.

(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 21:09, archived)
# hahaha, yup:
You've Been Framed (now on a rise again for me since HH took over the voiceover)
TV Burp
Doctor Who

Then out and about or doing something else, as it
all gets crappy from then on
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 21:12, archived)
# I love how TV Burp
features 99% programmes I've never watched or sometimes even heard of and yet I find it such compulsive viewing.

Harry Hill is a light entertainment version of Vic and Bob at their prime.

# this is good, kindred spirits....
I don't watch any of the programs he goes on about,
but I must thank him for three things:

1.) The Phrase "Coconut Tinderbundle... That's one of Bob Geldof's kids isn't it"?

2.) "Her Majesty is woken up every morning with a cup of tea and a slice of toast, whereas Prince Philip gets a Twix and a carton of Um Bongo".

3.) ALL the Bear Grylls stuff
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 21:17, archived)
# HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
the Um Bongo comment made me immediately turn to Mrs Toast and say, that's what I want to wake up to. :D

# the spitting out of the seeds from the berries after watching the Ray Mears thing
counts as one of my favourite television moments of the year

# ^this
actually i'm off now to watch the other Simon Pegg in MI:3 on DVD and waiting for a pizza - not holding much hope for the film, but will look forward to his appearance in any case
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 21:16, archived)
# You may enjoy your pizza more than the film...
but Phillip Seymour Hoffman is quite good in it,
as am I...

# :)
right, am actually shutting down now!

# i like Burp too
but you're very right there
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 21:13, archived)
# It had it's day from what I remember with Tom Baker and some commendable budgets in the 70's
and quality scripts as well, like the Talons of Wang Chung, the Robots of Death, and the Genesis of the Daleks, but lost it's way IMO during the 80's.

Quite frankly, i'm enjoying the new stuff, perhaps because how let down I felt by the 80's Doctor Who. It's early evening fun!

/36 I think
(, Sat 21 Apr 2007, 21:09, archived)
# i didn't think it was too bad at all personally despite a few wobbly accents
and it was nice to see a woman writing it for a change.

but I'm not saying it to be controversial, some people just have different opinions.

I don't argue, never have on here. Yes I'll sometimes have a nice conversation, but I don't see why that should get some people's backs up. :(
