
that sql server 2000 virus is really fucking up the internet for me. I'm going to just blame microsoft because they couldn't design a secure program to save their greedy asses.

PostresSQL, Oracle, DB2, etc aren't affected. It's an attack on unpatched MS SQL servers. A patch has been available for this vulnerability since July - obviously many administrators haven't applied it.
The net performing really badly is down to the way the worm spreads (basically sending out loads of information to all hosts in the hope of finding and infecting another MS SQL server).
