Threadjack: Finally got through to a human being at Emap... apparently I've been passed straight over to their lawyers. Lawyers have been known to cash cheques, but not write them. Looks like they want to play games instead of paying me for the image they used.

I used to work there and they paid me to leave.
(Not that I have contacts that could help you - different staff these days.)

but my then boss fixed the system so that I was awarded a nice 'bonus for meeting targets'
this plus some redundancy pay added up nicely.
