# people are stupid and lazy, unless the manufacturers are forced
the spend the extra 0.03p on plastic to use the recyclable sort then yes, we will continue to buy it.

You can't ask people to do things themselves that will upset their life in a teeny, tiny way, which is why the petition actually makes some sense.

# not really, as you rely on these lazy, and stupid 'people' (suggesting the majority) to sign the petition in the first place to make the peition big enough to have an effect...
thus they are 'doing it themselves' and not being so stupid, and lazy. If they're stupid and lazy enough to not
care a tinker's cuss when they're actually in the supermarket,
what makes you think a small percentage of them would actually sign an online petition.

people just don't care that much until it's in their back yard, it's driven by greed, not by ethics, and I'll tell you now, there is NO WAY on this Earth
that Gordon Brown will introduce ANYTHING like this in the next few years, as it'll upset the applecart with so many companies and producers,
and he needs all the stabiliy help he can get
to make his tenure as comfortable as possible in these early days

# yes, I was suggesting that signing a petition
was less imposing on their lives than suggesting the stop buying cheap, non degrading plastics.

# you're sort of reaching for the 'middle england daily express/guardian' route then
as said, nice idea, good cause and all, but so many people have tried this, and it becomes inneffectual in it's approach.
It's a lot easier for downing street to drag all the signatories across into a folder on a computer and conveniently forget about it than it is to open letters, actually have to READ comments and letters. THAT's what is needed. Make someone actually do some friggin' work that end to start making people realise.

# The worst thing I ever saw
Was frozen microwave chips (not McCains - I can't remember the brand) but, and you'll have trouble believing this, each chip was basically individually packaged!

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong!
