Don't buy the hosting
You simply want the domain name and nothing else.
Then transfer to a cheaper host once you've bought it.. :)

Google apps
.coms for £5 per year, with mickey mouse (for us non web literate) site builder no FTP but web based uploads and hosting. Good value.
