# TOAP!

# pffft
In germany I could get arrested simply for viewing this post.

Freedom of speech is anyways not an inalienable right, so what's the big fuss.

# I just discovered that they changed the law
... last March. Crossed out swastikas are now ok.
(, Tue 27 Nov 2007, 10:47, archived)
# yeh there are a lot of crossed out swastikas
on anti-fascist posters here. There seem to be quite a few fascist demos from time to time, but they are always outnumbered by the anti-fascist mob.

I believe the german govt are trying to pass a bill just now to deny the fascist party freedom of speech.

# here too
The police uses a rather clever trick (altough utterly annoying for the nazis): the check them individually for visible nazi symbols and cover them with tape.
The whole process takes so long that by the time they are done, the demonstration permit has expired and they have to go home.

# haha nice
the police are scary looking here. Their uniforms have a distinctly riot gear look about them compared to the half-arsed bobby one sees in britain.

# fuck you, I'm P****e
I prove to the world each day of my perverse life that there is no such thing as an inalienable right to free speech. So there. Sit on that and sing.
(, Tue 27 Nov 2007, 11:03, archived)
# It's not.
You surrender your right in order to be protected from libelous claims.
(, Tue 27 Nov 2007, 10:50, archived)
# as well as
restrictions on pron, blasphemy, inciting hatred on the grounds of race, gender, sexuality etc.

We never have had, and never will have complete freedom of speech in the UK

get over it.

# Weren't these laws changed recently though?
I heard it is now permitted to show a crossed-out swastika, pretty much like this one...

# Oh God, yes!
That's not what I was suggesting at all - sorry.

Woo to your Pic, sir.

# I thought they just did counter-marches
rather than actually stopping the fascists marching.

Thus they don't actually restrict their freedom of speech.

# They tried to stop the debate.
Tried to stop Griffin & Irvine expressing their opinions.

I love it.

Coming to a BNP website soon "White politicians unable to express views at universities"

A fabulous own-goal.
