what platties are. I just called them goldfish, but apparently it's a different thing!

Goldfish are coldwater fish and members of the carp family and shouldn't really be kept in aquaria, where as Platties are livebearers from the same genus family as Guppies and are tropical fish that thrive and breed easily in a home aquarium.
