I am in considerable pain in my chest and the out of hours doctor is slow to return my call.
I'd drive up to the hospital, but I think I might crash when it spasms.
It's on the right of my chest, about 4 fingers below and two to the right of my right nipple - I know that my heart is on my left, I am not concerned about that, it is not wind, but feels muscular.
Given that I have broken my back twice in the past, the pain is not minor - it's really fucking bad.
Any ideas?

I would say not to worry as it sounds like a normal posture pain.
It'll be a nerve in your spine shooting round to your front. Or at least it will be if its like the ones I get. Hurt like fuck it does.
Have you bee drinking a lot of red wine over the weekend and then sitting at a desk all day?
That for some bizarre reason gets me.
Or it could be life threatening in which case fuck off to the hospital.
What have you been up to recently?

if it's not broken is no big deal. If it's broken it could pierce the lung, but you should be able to feel it.
But I'm not a doctor.

They'll probably tell you to call for an ambulance. They always do. The ambulance service hate them for it.
They're probably more reliable than b3ta, though, unless there are hidden medics around.
(Off the top of my head, it might be muscular pain, broken rib, duodenal ulcer, gallstones and a number of other weirder things. I am not a doctor. Not a medical one, anyway.)

Now, what are your views on cyberpunk literature? (Well, that's what I'm qualified in...)
Anyway, /\ This. Either ring NHS direct on 0845 4647 or 999.
If I were a bastard I would link you to their site, but actually make it the 'I love horses' one. It turns out that I'm not actually a bastard. www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/
