I love the fact that his expression does not betray the disappointment he must surely be feeling. Beadle is keeping it together, internalising the pain and humiliation, crying on the inside like a clown at a children's party whose application for citizenship was just denied and who will be forced back to the country of his birth, where clowns are discriminated against and imprisoned in special clown jails.
That is how I imagine Beadle's suffering to be. Poor Beadles.
