# I was tempted to post it too.

# why is he sniffing the text?

# HE was orginally told he was going to be in the Bisto advert.

# mmmnnnngg bisto

# Uh-huh.
This is a picture of somebody with downs syndrome shopped onto the magazine for "a fraternal organisation of Catholic gentlemen," though, so it doesn't fall within the scope of your complaint.

Mind you, I'm only making an assumption here. Perhaps he doesn't have downs and is just stupid-looking. If that's the case, do you find him funny? Or are you saying that stupid-looking people are not funny? If so, I think you're generally speaking mistaken.

# There doesn't appear to be any joke or wit though.
Essentially its just a picture of a mong with some pointlessly changed text.
It's not a pun or play on words and I don't think its that funny. You'll notice
though that I posted the badge as a reply to someone elses protestation
and not as a reply to the picture itself because forcing my opinions on someone else is not my style.

# OK.
Well, I liked "The Vatican: full of mongs?" - not because it's particularly clever, but because it was enjoyable.

# That made me chortle a bit too.
The rest was just very lazy. I don't have a moral view on this. It just doesn't make me laugh.

# Cool. Indifference is a platform I can get behind.

# It's The Hedgehog From Hell's badge
he made it because he gets really pissed off when people post mongs just because they're mongs.
If there's a joke involved, then fine, but not "MONGS LOL!" pictures, like the one that started this thread.

# Yes, I went and tracked it down and read that.
Fine line, I say. And we have a noble tradition of not bitching.
Except when somebody contravenes the FAQ, and then it's a massive pile-on, needless to say.

# I think people who are protesting against it (Including myself)
are looking at it from the point of view of someone with downs.
If you had downs, and you saw pictures like that, how would it make you feel?

# Can we not leave this protest to the board members who actually have downs?
If I had downs I would try to disassociate myself from the mongy image by dressing sharply and being very poised - unless it had affected me in the way that makes you stupid (which doesn't always happen), in which case I would feel bad anyway and pictures like this would not be a distortion of the facts. Incidentally, humour is always a distortion of the facts, and always unfair, because it exaggerates and misdirects.
