# Friends liking their friends images
is hardly hypocrisy toasty. It's just human nature.
Also, Kk posts lots of stuff she's drawn, which I think makes people more tolerant of the occasional photo. Well, some people anyway.
Yeah, plus this person has contributed sweet fuck all except this pissy piece of criticsm.

# no, I'm not knocking friends liking stuff
just the fact that Rob has "RPS is shit" written on the posting page, people know not to post unshopped stuff and yet when regulars do it (not picking on KK in particular at all) it gets a pat on the back.
But the same patters, will shout at a new person in the blink of an eye for doing the same thing.

# Uh, maybe it's because I'm a regular
so people know I don't come on here posting photos all the time. I almost never do. And there are plenty of people who post photos (new and regular) who don't get flamed. So don't say you're not picking on me.

# I am NOT picking on you
I am pointing out to sanityclause the hypocritical nature of the site.
Have I actually replied to your thread saying don't do this myself?
As the great michael winner has been known to say, calm down dear it's only an advert
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:34, archived)
# I'm perfectly calm.
I am just pointing out the fact that any time I post a photo, you jump in and say something. That's all.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:35, archived)
# nonsense
this is quite possibly the first time I've ever done it! And again, I was not saying anything about YOUR picture, I was talking to sanityclause.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:36, archived)
# Okay.
Whatever you say.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:37, archived)
# Sorry Kk,
Didn't actually mean to have a _proper_ go (as some of your defendants have alleged), just hastily posted a bit of a snitty remark against an un-photoshopped photo. No offence meant, I just remember the days when Sundays on the board were full of sixth-form photo projects of decaying wooden doors and trees silhouetted against sunsets.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:40, archived)
# It's alright.
None taken.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:42, archived)
# I hear you
but to address your last point about n00bs, I do think there's more leeway given to people in terms of what they post if they've already posted lots of pics they've made, as in the case of Kk.
As for Rob's "RPS is shit": there was a time when Sundays were just a board full of dodgy sunsets. Rob made his feelings about it clear, and now it's changed. There has been at least one completely unshopped photo frontpaged, so they can't be completely frowned upon.

# has there? what was that of?
(not calling your bluff, genuinely interested)
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:37, archived)
# IIRC it was a van
with an internet expression (rofl or lol or something) on the side.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:40, archived)
# classy
I'm sure some people would argue it was very funny. But it doesn't sound it :D
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:44, archived)
# I wondered at the time
if the "Unshopped" claim was just a joke, but I don't think it was. I also wondered (and I wasn't alone in this) if it was the posters own picture, but the mods are usually pretty sharp about that stuff, and if something gets missed someone here will have seen it and will point it out, jaded crowd what we are.
In fairness too I think it may have been funnier than my description of it makes it sound.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:48, archived)
# it was this pic..
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:51, archived)
# Ok
so it WASN'T funnier than I made it sound :)
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:53, archived)
# It would have been much better in an existing thread, dude
at the end of the day
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:40, archived)
# I hear you
but what I hear is you voicing your opinion, which is fair enough of course, but that's all it is.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:42, archived)
# I think that photos are more accepted if they're amusing.
This is just a picture of a field. Fair enough if she's happy with it and wants to show it off, that's easily done by chucking a link or a picture in an existing thread.
It doesn't have to be a new thread and potentially push off work that someone has spent hours on.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:49, archived)
# For what it's worth
I at least partially agree with you, but it's really not such a big deal once in a while is it? My main point here is that she's a good regular contributor and the person initially being pissy to her is not. In fact I don't think I've ever seen them contribute anything before this.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:57, archived)
# I see what you mean, but I don't like it when this site treats people differently depending on who they are, rather than what they do.
It's not something I'll often make a big deal of, but I can't see why they can't go in an existing thread. Everyone will still see it.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 20:00, archived)
# The treating differently thing
is just human nature I think. After all, friends are effectively just people who we treat differently to strangers.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 20:04, archived)
# Yes, that's true.
Doesn't mean I have to like it, though.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 20:05, archived)
# Awww
Don't you like that I'm nice to you?
:p
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 20:10, archived)
# I want you to treat me bad.
Oh yeah.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 20:11, archived)
# is this photo accepted?
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 19:58, archived)
# We're always happy to see your hole, discomeats.
(, Tue 25 Mar 2008, 20:01, archived)
# :)
