I do not begrudge the American spellings on certain words, but their propensity to drop letters from words just fucks me off like nobody's business! And don't even get me started on fucking aluminium! Or, sorry, Aluminum as those fucktards spell it! Why? They have no problem whatsoever with any other ~ium as far as I am aware!

however while the british society of chemists decided that since so many elements ended with 'ium' it was only fair to change aluminum to aluminium to fit the rest, the american society of chemists decided to leave it as it was originally.
so it was actually a case of us lot meddling that time.
