Thank you for your message asking to publish one of my images in the 'You've got Spam' section of Nuts Weekly. The image being: cat_trap.jpg
which was created by me under my b3ta.com username 'prodigy69'.
Sadly, I have occasionally been approached by other publications, who are good enough to offer payment for the use of my images for single print use 'The Sun' 'The Record' 'Daily Sport' amongst others and I don't have any problem with them using my pictures with permission and payment,
I've had pictures used by you lot God knows how many times WITHOUT permission, and when I contacted you I got nothing but insolence and cheek.
As a Graphic Designer I wouldn't use anyone else's work and not pay them their dues,
So no, I cannot allow my images to be published for 'free' in your magazine when there are other publications willing to pay.
And to be honest being put into a luck dip to win £100 is an insult.
Over the past 12 months or so, a significant number of b3ta images have been used in your magazine with no renumeration for their use, other than offered to be put into a prize draw or some sponsored prize if the image was classified as the 'reader winner' in the 'You've got Spam' section.
As said above, I cannot allow ANY of my images to be printed without payment when other publications offer to pay for my work to publish it.
If you do change your policy and offer a payment for the use of images, I would be more than happy to offer my images for publication to the 'You've got Spam' page on future occasions if an agreement can be reached beforehand.
Please feel free to contact me via email if you wish to discuss this further
Kind regards,
prodigy69

Just being nosy. What image was it they were asking your permission to profit from?

Well, I hope they ignore your reply, and print the image anyway - hopefully cropping your tag off it.
Purely because I want to watch a fight :P

I know that both TGA and p69 would make a great team against Nuts

i think this Bauer company are trying to improve the public image of their new purchases (i.e. most of emap's stock) so they may change their policies in the future, or just scrap shite mags like nuts and zoo

but until such times they are black listed by me.

so by the time I read it it's apparently too late to respond.
They asked for one of my 'Attack of the 50 ft Woman' ones, the one with the moustache.

and it's a long term strategy.
although if they don't perceive a few "pissed off nerds" as poor public image they may not bother.
i heard about the take over, but didn't realise how widespread it was til i looked in the REM Q. thought they'd kept hold of that

because it repeats itself over and over repetitiously and reiterates what it already iterated again like an echo that says the same thing multiple times and so, at length, begins to wear on account of the repetition. But woo the the pic, hope you win.
