# It is possible to be patriotic without being 'nationalist' (in the negative sense)
unfortunately, the binary thought processes of the people reading the popular press cannot make this distinction.

I support patriotism. Right on, engligga.

# ^^This^^ Is kinda what I wanted to convey at the same time.
But talking to a smug twunt in his silly sunglasses (raining today)and his H & M jacket harping on..."oh it's all sooo dumb, it's like morris dancers and shit...."

"glarey type eyes from me..."

# I fear that it has much to do with the lack of strong nationwide traditions in england
Yes, there are morris dancers and plenty of things from history which could be better commemorated, but many of these things have been shunted out by the influence of american culture.

I dare say, the smug twunt in his silly sunglasses and his H&M jacket would probably have phrased his sentence more like "Like, it's all so totally dumb, you know? Like, what? Morris dancers? Like, uh, yeh right"

It's not a pop at americans, it's just my opinion on the erosion of english tradition.
