I was about 10 and I could beat it. BTW It was a type-in in "Your Computer", and quite a stunning technical achievement.

I could probably knock up a 1k chess game with CPU player in assembler though. It would still be shite, but still :)

and you had to reload each time you played, as the screen memory wrote over the code. I think. It was a long time ago...

thats not so-hard in assembler. I did a cool 3d starfield that you could navigate with the mouse in 256 bytes once.
