# Thatcher didn't trust men who weren't clean shaven.
Which says all you need to know about her supposed Christianity, amongst other things.

Beards are win. Winny win win. Winnie Mandela.

smoke a joint and then drink some whisky. Then maybe you shall have a captain of your own.

# I'm not sure if the beard is working for me with short hair though...
I've reverted to 3-5 day stubble...
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:13, archived)
# Stubble's allowable, so long as it's sexy.
Ask Mrs Doom tonight.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:14, archived)
# Oh I already have...
stubble is OK, full Karl Marx beard is not.

shame...

# :O
Big beards are ace. But you are a bit young for it. When you're old, that's when you get the really long beard. And a check shirt. Start hanging around outside a lot, come home with logs. Yum.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:18, archived)
# OK . . . How did you know what I was wearing ?

# Ah, this so isn't you.
Who is it? Do we know where to find him?
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:26, archived)
# I'm not in Beverly Hills . . . but close . . .
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:28, archived)
# Is it really you?
Phwoar if it is. Well done there.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:28, archived)
# We thank you . . .
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:31, archived)
# True... until tache and beard meet up you have to be careful...
Got the check shirt though... not sure about the logs - not many of them in London...

# Move to a mountain.
Sorry, forgot to mention that.

Basically, be Kris Kristofferson.

in a kind of Mark Lanegan / Tom Waits voice...

Almost. Potato/potato of a slightly different shape.

# Is that you? You look totally different there.
Not just because of the Guevaraness, or the larger expanse of beard.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:21, archived)
# It is I, yes.
It's probably because the hair is all tucked up behind the hat and out of shot, plus I think it was narrower and shorter then.
Not the longest the beard has been by a long shot, but I rarely take photos of myself.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:23, archived)
# It's a very nice hat.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:25, archived)
# I think it only cost be 15 quid.
More confusingly though I'm wearing a west German flightsuit below shot.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:28, archived)
# What an utter faux-pas.
Do you have a grey Waffen-SS uniform? They're really nice.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:31, archived)
# No because I would find it considerably dubious owning Nazi memorabilia.
And they weren't really sexy anyway, they just looked stupid with the big balloony trousers sticking out of the tight boots.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:34, archived)
# I think they're really beautifully designed.
I wouldn't consider it dubious, but then the things I would consider to be are far removed from most other peoples' ideas on the subject.

Re: latex. Watercolours? You could get a nice effect on any reflections.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:38, archived)
# I think they were showy and crap, and in many cases just looked pretty gay.
The actual combat uniforms were alright and just fairly standard green, but all the officer's wear just looked stupid.
WW2 RAF Blue on the other hand looked like they'd just wandered in from tea with vicar and was brilliant.

Haven't done watercolours in an age, never really liked them. I doubt I'm going to be drawing latex again anyway, unless someone commissions me to for either money or favours.
(, Tue 17 Jun 2008, 17:45, archived)
# I always found them to be a pig to work with.
I like a good strong gouache, but that's just personal preference.

Having looked at what I assume is what you're talking about, the hat looks a bit baggy to me. www.diggerhistory.info/images/uniforms4/RAF01_small.jpg

www.diggerhistory.info/images/uniforms4/Allgemeine-SS_small.jpg That's nice, but I'm not sure if he'd have silly trousers on as well.

I'll remember that your personal preference is for a strong gouaching, *tenuous joke*
