lillies are easy to grow in a pot.
watch out for lilly beetle though, it's bright red and makes a brilliant squeaking noise just before it gets squashed between your finger and thumb, the poo it's grub produces isn't nice but that gets washed off when you chuck them in the pond to feed the fish.

it's not that - the raccoons here love lillies for some reason.
we've tried growing them and the raccoons just eat them.

raccoons, eh?
bit more of a problem than a beetle, and a bit trickier to squash i warrant, although they are cute and make fine hats i'm told.

cute as hell, true.
i'm not a squasher of anything, so i let them be. the thistles i planted to deter them some (and they seem to be working), and the hot pepper plants annoy them too.
bedtime, see you all later.
