Definately use a needleat least twice the diameter of the jewellery. shave the area, swab with an alcohol solution and either use a pre-sterilised integral packaged or a needle boiled in water for awhile. Use gloves that you have swabbed with your alcohol solution (90% ethanol is good)and wash the area twice daily with sterile saline solution.
