# only because you know I'm right and you won't admit it to yourself
Bowie is a talent who has changed generations with varying styles of music, and he earns respect for such talent.

Singing a few whiney songs to a reptitive guitar riff, then realising how shit they are you have to take a shotgun
to yourself does not make Cobain any sort of musical 'legend' as many would have us believe.

and as for Battenburg....

# How big would Nirvana be if he didn't kill himself?
But I ask myself the same question about The Beatles and John Lennon.

Also you are on Jonathon Ross. ; )

# So I hear *multitasking*
Nirvana would probably have gone downhill as most artists/groups do when their 'niche' becomes oversaturated in the market
with lots of spin-off groups, solo projects, imitators and pretenders to the throne.
Most groups do.

The Beatles, along with artists such as Bowie, Queen to name but two more, varied styles over different eras, marketing themselves out
to different groups and styles. That's what kept them 'big'

# I thought about a Bowie one
but he's one of those changable artists that you can't pin down an "iconic" image for. The same with Madonna really. If somebody can suggest the ideal 'Bowie' image, then I'll give it a go. Same goes for Madonna :)
